Licensing Spaceport Camden

As you’ve probably heard by now, Camden County has a real opportunity to establish a commercially operated spaceport.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is moving forward with licensing the spaceport but the first step is to prepare a comprehensive Environmental Impact Study.

“The results of the environmental impact statement will give us critical facts and analysis on potential impacts and ensure there are no unintended consequences on our local citizens.” – Steve Howard, Camden County Administrator

Why should we care in Glynn County?

Economic Development doesn’t stop at county lines.  The spaceport will be located in Camden County but Glynn County stands to gain quite a bit.

  • Spaceport Camden will employ Glynn County residents
  • Glynn County is a regional shopping and housing destination – more residents and more shoppers!
  • Increased opportunities for the Brunswick – Golden Isles Airport
  • Jekyll Island would be a great place to watch a shuttle launch
  • More career and educational opportunities for our kids

HELP LAUNCH SPACEPORT CAMDEN

Before the FAA will move forward, they want to know that the spaceport has public support.  Please shoot an email to the FAA voicing your support for Spaceport Camden.

UPDATE:  The comment period has been closed and the FAA is now considering the input they received.
